K-TOWN ’92

The LA riots in 1992 were one of the major turning points in the history of the Korean American Coalition-Los Angeles, establishing the organization as the voice of the Korean American community. Now, there are 7 operating non-profit chapters across the US that continue to promote the civic and civil rights interests of the Korean American community.

K-TOWN ’92 is a web-based project which allows new perspectives to emerge alongside media images of the 1992 Los Angeles riots/rebellion/uprising.  Explore these stories and reflect on this turbulent chapter of American history 25 years later.
