One of our board members brought to our attention that a friend, Ji-eun (Julie) Jung (pictured above w/ family) was diagnosed with leukemia and desperately needs to find a bone marrow match. Unfortunately, bone marrow matches usually comes from someone’s own ethnic group, and there are not enough Korean-Americans in the registry.
Julie is a DC-area Korean-American mom, wife, children’s dentist, and U.S. Navy veteran. She provides free or low-cost care to children from disadvantaged homes.
In order to help Julie find a match, there will be Be the Match drives across metro-Atlanta (see picture below) this weekend. Please take some time today to either request an in-home kit (join.bethematch.org/fl) or visit one of these locations this weekend to sign up for the registry.
